Mouse Frequency is a simple and useful utility to test the "report frequency" of every mouse device, either optical or with ball, corded or cordless, with PS/2 or USB connection.
The report frequency (expressed in Hertz "Hz") is the number of informations a mouse device sends to your computer in a time of one second.
The report frequency of a mouse depends on several factors. One of the main factors is the connection type between mouse and computer. PS/2 mouses can have a report frequency of only 40 Hz, while USB mouses can give up to 125 Hz. Other factors can be the mouse construction technology (corded or cordless, and in this last case if it uses or not a "Fast RF" transmission tecnique).
For example my "Logitech Wheel Mouse Optical", connected through USB interface, gives me a report frequency of 125 Hz, pratically the standard for USB mouses!
Some features of Mouse Frequency utility are:
-Very accurate frequency detection
-No setup required
-No external libraries required
-Runs on every Win32 platform (Windows 95/98/98SE/ME/NT/2000/XP)
-Released as freeware |
